Cathedral is the first Missouri C.L.A.S.S. school. C.L.A.S.S. is a 10-state consortium of schools implementing the brain-compatible model of instruction. This model focuses on the importance of literacy across the curriculum. It also emphasizes a healthy and safe learning environment and community.

Cathedral school has a proven record of success. The Class of 2010 scored at the 93th percentile (the top 7% in the nation) on their overall composite score on the ITBS. They scored above the 90th percentile in 11 of their 19 subtests and total scores.

Every class in Grades 4-8 scored above its grade level equivalency on every single subtest and total score. Every class in Grades 4-8 scored at least one year above its grade level equivalency on its composite scores. Grades 7 and 8 scored THREE years above their grade level equivalency on their composite scores.

Our local Catholic high school, Bishop LeBlond, has had four students appointed to the different U.S. military academies since 1993. All four are Cathedral graduates.

Cathedral provides its students a unique combination of opportunities. There are several enrichment opportunites available to students. Cathedral offers music education, bell choir, physical education, technology and art instruction. Each class has access to the Cathedral Library. Spanish and other electives are offered to our middle school students.

We are the only parochial school in St. Joseph whose students participate in the "Rainbows" gifted program. Cathedral is also the city's only parochial school that participates in the Title III ESOL program. We can also boast being the only parochial and elementary school in St. Joseph with its own full-fledged spring musical.
